Gemini Arts coming in 2023

            Some of you may know I have been looking for an art studio

For several months ArtJeanee has scoured the greater Columbia, SC area looking for art studio space. Everywhere I have checked has been full or not ready. One of the most interesting projects I have heard about is the Gemini Arts. A project by artist Ron Hagell, which will be located at 2847 Commerce Dr. Columbia, SC 29205. 

They will be having a Hard Hat preview party on Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022. Anyone that is interested may attend. They would love to hear from working artists and get your feedback. The event will be held from 2-5 pm. They have listed this event on Facebook if you want more details.

    UPDATE It is Dec. 16, 2024 and it is not open yet. However, I did get word that they plan to open in March 2025. I am totally looking forward to my art studio #3. I have picked it out and am in the planning stages for my area. Anyone that has old wood furniture they no longer want, please contact me at artjeanee@outlook.com. I will be painting, teaching classes and offering private art lessons. I currently have 7 art shows all around Columbia, West Columbia and Lexington, SC. Contact me for details.

ArtJeanee explains with a smile

 H ello,   it has been a long time and so much has happened in recent years. No one blog could contain it all. It could be a book. (maybe) Speaking of books, I did put together a book during the pandemic. My mom is also an artist and had always wanted to author a book. Over the years with numerous cross-country moves much of what she wrote during her life had been lost, however she had been doing paintings with her senior center, so that is the book I made for her. She wrote three short stories for it, that reflect where she is now, not where she was. Anyhow, it was an interesting experience to publish a book for mom. I learned a lot and may do one (or more) for myself at some point. Since I graduated in Dec. 2019 with my BFA, the pandemic hit, and I had to roll with the times. Juried Art Shows

  copyright by Jean Bourque The month of October has two art shows where I have art that has been juried into it.  FIRST "LEAF IN THE WIND" We have the SC State Fair, in which I entered a mixed media painting on paper and professionally framed under glass. It can be seen in the Professional Division in the Mixed Media aisles. The painting is of a leaf blown up and painted with lots of colors and decorated with care. The SC State Fair grounds are located off  south Assembly St. Columbia, SC.
