Juried Art Shows

  copyright by Jean Bourque The month of October has two art shows where I have art that has been juried into it.  FIRST "LEAF IN THE WIND" We have the SC State Fair, in which I entered a mixed media painting on paper and professionally framed under glass. It can be seen in the Professional Division in the Mixed Media aisles. The painting is of a leaf blown up and painted with lots of colors and decorated with care. The SC State Fair grounds are located off  south Assembly St. Columbia, SC. The Fair runs from Oct. 12 to Oct. 23, 2022.  This framed piece is available for sale.  NEXT "STILLHOUSE" We have the Rosewood Arts Festival at 910 Holly St.  (off Rosewood Dr.) Columbia, SC on Saturday October 15, 2022. 11-6pm My painting has been juried in to the Pop up tent show and is in the running for People's Choice, so if you like it, please be sure to vote for my painting while at the festival. Discussions: Art, Photography, and the Moon

  DAISIES c2022Bourque FLOWERS, I COULD TAKE PHOTOS OF FLOWERS EVERYWHERE! (and sometimes, I do pull over to get a photo) Lately, I have been doing a lot of thinking about the arts in my life. For me, the arts are about love. I try to capture photos of abstract images like ice cubes melting and patterns in nature. The world is filled with fascinating subject material. Almost every night, I have a late night walk and have observed the moon and her changes in color, in position and in shape. How the moon changes and watching the night sky has led to a ton of images and because I have not edited them (YET) to express my originality, the images are waiting for that mind flash that says NOW.
