Art is Everywhere...in a film

Image
I love it when I see some abstract art in a movie or on a tv sit com. I always wonder who the artist is and how they got their art on a show. It is possible that non-artists don't even notice it. Often, I will point it out to fellow show watchers and they never seemed to have noticed it, unless they also are an artist or art student. I'm sure art academia would notice as well, although I have never watched a sit-com with any of them. I work in an art theatre so I have never mentioned this to anyone there as  most of them have performed themselves or been film makers and they do notice much more about a film, than I, Many of them are looking more at  the technical issues, the cgi, the anime, the editing, or the overall story and how it is  played out vs a book or another film. Some are listening to the sound track, the music and exploring how they might have done it. Each type of artist has their own  area of expertise and I guess we each come to the films with ...

ArtJeanee in downtown Columbia, SC

Abstract oil paintings by Jean Bourque aka Art Jeanee c 2022 Hello,  I have been looking for an office art studio for a while, but hadn't really advertised, so before going to advertising media decided to try my own blog as most of you know me. Here is what I am looking for... Art Studio Office at least 12 ft by 12 ft but no larger than 250 square feet.  A visual artist seeks a 140-250 square foot office with a closet, water, hvac, well lit, with private secure entrance and 24/7 access. The rental should include restroom access, good lighting, mail delivery, wifi, parking, and be within a well-maintained property. Kitchen and or conference room access is nice but not necessary. The space will be used primarily as office space to do art marketing, which includes photography, with occasional use as a small classroom, art and sewing studio. Prefer downtown Columbia. However, I will consider Cayce or West Columbia if on State St., Meeting St., Knox Abbott Drive, or close t...

Discussions: Art, Photography, and the Moon

Image
DAISIES c2022Bourque FLOWERS, I COULD TAKE PHOTOS OF FLOWERS EVERYWHERE! (and sometimes, I do pull over to get a photo) Lately, I have been doing a lot of thinking about the arts in my life. For me, the arts are about love. I try to capture photos of abstract images like ice cubes melting and patterns in nature. The world is filled with fascinating subject material. Almost every night, I have a late night walk and have observed the moon and her changes in color, in position and in shape. How the moon changes and watching the night sky has led to a ton of images and because I have not edited them (YET) to express my originality, the images are waiting for that mind flash that says NOW. Waiting c2022Bourque 10 PM Walking at night, taking moon photos with my partner, or my family, it is always about LOVE. Grateful for the arts in my life! FIRST SPRING ROSE
